STEM Learning
A selection of hand-picked resources covering the whole curriculum in the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 programmes of science study. The resource is split into focused topics across the biology, physics and chemistry curriculum.
Microsoft – Hacking STEM
This website provides affordable experimental project-based activities to visualise data across science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum. The resources include projects such as building models to understand and mitigate brain injury and making party lights using circuits and switches. The project is suitable for children between 9 and 13 and the lesson plans are written by teachers for teachers.
MyGCSEscience
A YouTube channel offering interactive learning for GCSE science students. The videos relate to the Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam, however, they are also relevant to other exam boards. The videos last between 10 and 15 minutes and cover the entire curriculum from Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
School Science
The website provides resources and news for science learners and teachers including topics and activities for students between the age range of 11 and 14, 14 and 16, 16 and 19 and for teachers. Topics of focus include microbiology, engineering, electricity and magnetism, heat, light and sound.
Developing Experts
Provides access to over 700 science lesson plans and experiments to help parents and teachers teach with confidence and inspire future generations to explore STEM careers. The website is catered for children from the ages of 4 to 14.
Every School
Links to science resources, interactive, printable, lesson plans and text. Suitable for children from year 1 to 8 with key focus areas including learning about plants, animals, materials, light, sound, forces, energy and food. Some topics of focus include plant science, the solar system and air resistance. The types of activities include downloadable lesson plans with powerpoints, activity sheets and video.
Bitesize
A renowned resource which provides primary, secondary and post-16 subject specific learning and revision tools. The resources and topics of focus are split into the following exam boards for GCSE and A level students – OCR, WJEC, AQA, CCEA, Edexcel and Edquas. KS2 and KS3 science resources include defining and refining key definitions in chemistry, science and biology and key memory activities to follow.
